Segas Master System rose out of the SG-1000 hardware range and was the first international release of that system. Competing with Nintendos NES/ Famicom, it had a hard time struggling with the Mario brothers, Zelda and other strong franchises, but managed to do well in most parts of the world. It was one of the most prominent systems of the 8-Bit era.

Das Master System entstand aus der SG-1000 Hardware, und war die erste internationale Veroeffentlichung von Sega. Im Wettbewerb mit Nintendos NES/Famicom hatte es einen schwierigen Stand gegen die Mario Brothers, Zelda und andere starke Serien, konnte aber dennoch respektablen Erfolg in den meisten Teilen der Welt vorweisen. Es war somit eines der bekanntesten Systeme der 8-Bit Aera.
