The Mega Drive 2 was the follow-up to the original Mega Drive, with some less functions (earphone jack, volume control) and in a smaller housing. Apart from that, the system is the same. With the change in design, another Mega CD had to be released.

Das Mega Drive 2 war der Nachfolger vom urspruenglichen Mega Drive, mit dezent abgespeckten Spezifikationen (keine Kopfhoerer-Buchse, kein Lautstaerke-Regler) und in einem kleineren Gehaeuse untergebracht. Davon abgesehen sind die Systeme gleich. Mit der Aenderung im Design des MD musste auch eine Anpassung der MCD Hardware erfolgen, die im Mega CD 2 muendete.
